The Year of the Snake 2025

The month of March is named after Mars, the Roman god of war. With new beginnings comes the internal battle of manifestation and transformation and the external struggle of coping with our daily challenges with clarity and wisdom. The Chinese zodiac for 2025 is honoring the year of the Snake. It is time for us to shed anything that no longer supports our well-being. The snake sheds its skin several times per year, and like the snake, we need to let go and move with purpose and not pressure. I know how difficult it can be to make the best decision when feeling pressured, but a good old-fashioned pause and a moment of clarity can move us toward the wisest decision. Snake energy asks us to move forward quietly yet powerfully. To act with intention and respond with precision. Snake energy is about growth, which speaks louder than revenge. Revenge has the habit of repeating itself and doesn’t allow for change and growth. The energy is dark because of the harm done to you, and you now wish to do to another. How wise it is to shed our old skin and start anew.
On January 29th, the Chinese New Year, I shared the Snake energy with my grandson, James. We lifted our arms to the heavens, and as we spotted a new moon, we asked for a new beginning. In the bathtub, James scrubbed his old skin off, shedding it like a snake, and he welcomed a new skin for his journey ahead. Now that March has arrived and spring is coming with new growth and life, James and I are more comfortable in our new skin, and we would love to share a special Apache Blessing that gave us both a feeling of peace and strength.
“May the sun bring you new energy by day, may the moon softly restore you by night, may the rain wash away your worries, may the breeze blow new strength into your being, and may you walk gently through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life.”
