The Journey..

Storyteller at Heart

Paula Wesselmann was born on Valentine's Day in St. Paul, Minnesota.  At the age of six, her family left the windy, snowy winters of the north for bare feet and white sandy beaches in Florida. After three years of living on Anna Maria Island, they moved to a ranch outside Tucson, Arizona. Paula grew up in a highly creative family, and she soon discovered her gifts in acting, modeling, art, and fencing. At eighteen, she went to Hollywood and earned an acting contract with 20th Century Fox Studio. While at the University of Arizona, she was chosen to be Miss Tucson for Miss America and won Glamour Magazine's Best Dressed Girl on Campus with clothes she designed. Before graduation, with a degree in teaching and several years later, a master's degree in education, she was selected to be a weather broadcaster for KZAZ, Chanel 11. Her next adventure took her around the world as a stewardess for Pan American World Airways, where she made lifelong friendships, stayed at 5-star hotels, traveled through warring countries and lands rich in beauty and culture. After two years of flying, she was ready to settle down. Returning home, she married her university sweetheart, Jim Wesselmann, and became an elementary school teacher for 27 years. During that time, she raised two sons, Nicholas and Paul. In 2002 Jim and Paula retired from teaching and moved to Boulder, Colorado. In 2005 they moved again and settled in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where she presently resides. Her passion now is writing with the world as her reference book filled with experience, knowledge, and life lessons.
