Summertime Wisdom

I was at the Oakland Airport with a 3-hour wait with my grandson and husband when I discovered a piece of paper stuck to my computer. When I read it, I smiled and decided to write this blog. We had just spent a week in San Diego with my eldest son, Nicholas, and his two beautiful daughters. As thunderstorms and flooding hit my hometown of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, I was enjoying the sun at the beautiful Mission Bay Resort and experiencing, once again, the magic of the San Diego Zoo through the playful eyes of my five-year-old grandson and 9- and 10-year-old granddaughters. I hope this quote by Emma Grace gives you clarity and the strength to move forward in your life, and may your uniqueness be valued and appreciated by all those who know you.

"I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but no one – including time – owes anything to you. Your life is a series of habits that are formed from choices you make – and then continue to make – every single day. If you want healing, then you have got to figure out a way to face what hurt you. If you want growth, you need to put in the work. If you want a healthier relationship, you better start learning how to communicate what you need. We all think we're products of what happens to us. That we're – handed – the lives we have and expected to keep them. We're not. What happens to us is simply a starting point. So, your choice – the one you re-make every single day – is to let what happened to you hold you back. Or to use what happened for you to propel you forward." Emma Grace

May this summer fill your days with healing, emotional and spiritual growth, and healthier relationships that warm your heart and awaken in you how special you are.
